Cubbby saves an estimated value for the exact card and grade in your collection. A refresh checks recent sales, market estimates, and current asking prices separately.
How the estimate is chosen
- Recent sales: when matching completed sales are available, Cubbby uses their median price.
- Market estimate: if there are no matching recent sales, an available estimate can provide the value. This may be modeled or indexed, rather than a recent sale price.
- Current asking prices: if neither sales nor a market estimate is available, Cubbby can use the median of matching fixed-price listings. Even one matching listing can provide a low-confidence asking-price estimate.
These amounts are evaluated separately, not averaged together. Auction bids are not used as asking prices.
Check the exact card and grade
Year, set, player, card number, insert, variant, serial numbering, and autograph details matter. Raw cards and graded cards are separate markets. A PSA 9, PSA 10, BGS 9, and BCCG 9 are not interchangeable.
Understand the evidence
Open Valuation details beneath a saved estimate to see its basis, confidence, grade, checked date, and available range. Completed-sale counts are separate from active-listing counts. The Comps and Active Listings tabs show matching rows without changing your saved value.
When no supported estimate is available
The card can show No estimate. This does not mean it is worth $0. You can keep it in your collection and set your own value. A temporary provider error leaves the previous saved value in place.
